To celebrate the live action remake of Beauty and the Beast, Latest in Beauty have teamed up with Disney to create not one but two beauty boxes. One for Belles and one for Beasts. Last Thursday I was lucky enough to be invited to their launch event for their Beauty & the Beast themed boxes. The launch event was held at the stunning Lanesborough hotel. The event offered the chance to meet new bloggers and speak to the lovely ladies behind these beautiful boxes. There was also a opportunity to have a hand massage from L’Occitane and a manicure Soigné, both brands feature in the boxes. At the end of the event we were all given a box to take home and review.
Before I talk more about the box itself. If you don’t know who Latest in Beauty are and what they do I wanted to give a little bit of a background about the brand. Latest in Beauty offer you chance to create your own beauty box. You can choose how many items you want in your box (box subscriptions come with a choice of 3, 6 or 9 items). You are then able to scour through their library of products to find ones that are suited to you. Brands to choose from include Rimmel London, Rodial and Nuxe. Alongside the personalised boxes they also offer themed boxes such as their Beauty and the beast boxes.
So shall we get onto the box?
First impressions the box is absolutely gorgeous. I’m completely sold! I would 110% buy this just for the box. The box looks exactly like a book and perfect for putting on your bookshelf as a secret hiding place (The galaxy ad comes to mind..) The blue hues give this box a luxurious appearance which is also helped by the gold text.
Moving on to the products..
The first product in the box is Radiance Enhancing Gommage from Gatineau Paris, the size of this product is 75 ml which is a full sized product. This product is an exfoliator but the consistency is very smooth. The exfoliator smells amazing, it gives off an amazing orange smell that isn’t too over powering and smells very fresh and clean. Also this product has glitter within the which helps leave skin glowing. The product leaves the skin feeling soft and doesn’t feel greasy.
The second product is a full size lipstick from Burt’s Bees in shade 501 Blush Basin. This is a full sized product. Firstly I love the packaging. (I’m a bit of a sucker for packaging. Can you tell?) I love the honeycomb detailing on the lid and I also like the fact that the pink colour showing is the shade of the lipstick. Moving on to the product itself I find the consistency of the lipstick to be more lipgloss than lipstick and the product doesn’t particularly show up on my lips. Taking this into account I don’t personally believe that I would use this product a huge amount.
Moving on to the next product we have at 10ml tube of Vinosource moisturizing sorbet from Claudalíe. I am a huge fan of this product. It feels amazing, the product feels lightweight and not at all greasy. Furthermore the product isn’t heavily fragranced but does have a mild floral scent. This product can be used in the morning or at night. My personal preference is to use my night time routine after washing my face.
The next product in the box is Gold Lust Dry Shampoo from Oribe. Dry shampoo is a product that I don’t use in my beauty routines at the moment. However this product leaves my hair feeling soft and clean. The product doesn’t have a distinctive fragrance and the scent it does give isn’t over powering. From my first impressions of this product it is definitely a product I could incorporate into my beauty routine.
The penultimate product in the box is full sized nail varnish is from Soigné in the shade betteraves rouges. This is what I would call a classic red shade. The product itself is made from 85% plant sourced, natural ingredients. From testing the nail varnish out, in my opinion the product is very durable. Soigné is a brand I personally haven’t heard of before this box, however I am excited try more of their products out.
The last beauty product in the box is by far my favourite. It is Roses et Reines Hand and Nail Cream from L’Occitane. I am currently obsessed with rose scented products and this hand cream is no exception. The hand cream contains shea butter and vitamin E, which leaves the skin feeling soft and helps to strengthen your nails. The rose scent is not overpowering which makes the product even more appealing.
Finally the box includes a gold compact mirror from Latest in Beauty. I don’t have much say about this mirror apart from it is gorgeous and a very welcome addition to my handbag.
Overall I am absolutely in love with this box and its contents, it is incredible to believe that this box only costs £20! I am amazed by the quality and quantity of products for this price. Of course there are products that I’m not sold on but nevertheless I would definitely think about buying this for a gift for my family and my friends.
Don’t forget Beauty and the Beast is out in cinemas on March 17th
Until next time..
